Tonsils

Haylee got her tonsil out on the 10th. Eighty percent of her airway was being blocked by her tonsils and adnoids. No matter what time of day, she would breath like she was asleep and then had a hard time sleeping through the night. This is her just before surgery. She had no idea what was going to hit her. She was happy to have a new teddy bear and a lot of attention... She managed to pull out a smile for this photo a few hours after surgery. She woke up from the surgery kicking and screamin that she didn't want to wake up. I can't say that I blame her. She was pretty miserable. They had to double dose her with morphine to get her to calm down. Thank heavens for drugs! We were given the option to stay overnight with her but decided to take her home per her request. . . that night I wish we had stayed in the hospital. She didn't want to swallow her medicine and woke up every three hours crying. I felt very helpless. Here she is recovering at home and she managed another smile. She will barely drink and hasn't had one popsicle despite being so excited to be able to have as many as she wanted. Fresh from the shower and ready to eat her first thing since Wednesday (it is Saturday)...good ol' Chicken Noodle Soup finally tempted her enough to want to choke it down. She did good and hopefully recovery only gets better from here. She is a little trooper and a tough kid. This is not fun but will be worth it.

Future Brides

Scott offered my wedding dress to someone at work so we drug it out. The girls really wanted to try it on. Maybe someday they will get to wear it and actually fit into it.
Ashtyn, a beautiful bride someday... Haylee, a beautiful bride someday... Brigham, hopefully never a beautiful bride but he sure does look cute. We had to do this while Dad had his back turned. Brigham just didn't understand why we weren't giving him a turn so I gave in. How do you teach them to take turns if you don't give turns?

New Years

We finally broke lose this year and decided to celebrate. New Years has always been a sad time of year for us since we associate it with Scott's Mom passing away but Scott called me New Years Eve from work to notify me that he invited all the guys from work over...I was somewhat stressed about putting on a party at such short notice, but excited that we were actually going to do something. We had a lot more fun than this picture gives credit for. There were 9 of us so we had several things going at once...Guitar Hero of course, some DSing, a puzzle and several games. Happy New Year to all! Scott, Rob, Ariann, Haylee, Brigham, Enoch, Amanda and Michelle hanging out eating food, food and more food. Ashtyn and Whitney are the only ones who opted for the table. The hot wings were too hot so they thought rubbing them would ice cubes would cool them off. Somehow they were still too spicy...how odd. The girls dressed in outfit after outfit. Michelle who is turning 1 this month finally got dressed up too. She was so thrilled I loved the smile it put on her face.
